What are the benefits of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)?
When possible, PDR is the most effective way to repair a hail damaged vehicle because the original paintwork remains intact, and does not require replacement of panels or re-painting. How are the dents removed?
Each dent is assessed and removed individually. They are removed manually using specialised Stainless Steel PDR hand tools and rods. Generally the dents are removed from behind the damaged panel, although in the early 2000’s a glue pulling technique was introduced allowing previously unrepairable areas of your vehicle to now be repaired, making PDR the complete solution for Hail Damage.
What is the timeframe of an average repair?
The average Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) timeframe for a Hail Damaged vehicle varies, dependant on the level of damage to your vehicle and whether or not your car requires any conventional repair.
If your vehicle requires PDR only, this is generally up to 1 week, but can be as short as 3 days if the damage is extremely minor – or we are able to have 2 PDR repair technicians on the job.
A PDR/Light paint combination (painting 1 panel only – for example a new bonnet) would be up to 2 weeks.
Finally, a PDR/Heavy paint combination will be up to 4 weeks.
